Job summary

Pathfinder, Inc. seeks an instructional trainer to work with residents, helping them gain daily living and survival skills for independent living.

You will collect data, monitor training programs and supervise day-to-day tasks to support progress and safety. Responsibilities include implementing individual program plans, preparing reports, coordinating transportation, and assisting with meal prep and community activities while maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant supervised work experience with public health, human services or similar; OR 2 years' verifiable experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• CNA Certification or Medical Assistant certification qualifies for a special entry rate.
• Must be able to pass applicable background checks and drug screen.
• Salary: $12.66 - $13.16 per hour

Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises residents' active treatment program in accordance with their individual program plans, and demonstrates the skills and techniques necessary to implement individual program plans.
• Follows prescribed activities to meet individual objectives. Provides services developed in an individual program plan.
• Initiates learning skills programs, e.g., reading, money management, cooking, grooming, dress, hygiene.
• Completes appropriate forms and reports including progress notes.
• Provides care and instruction for all residents in daily living including home management, cooking, cleaning and socialization skills using behavioral management techniques.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the residents.
• Provides a variety of choices in community inclusion activities for residents.
• Monitors/reminds residents when it is necessary to take and refill medications.
• Manages residents in appropriate behaviors professionally and demonstrates techniques to intervene effectively.
• Encourages healthy work attitudes and behaviors in residents who work.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as directed.
• Communicates verbal and written information regarding resident behavior, needs, medication, and other issues to incoming staff at shift change for program continuity.
• Provides transportation (in personal vehicle) to clients based on their needs and Pathfinder business.
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education And Experience

• High School diploma or GED;
• One (1) Year of relevant, supervised work experience with public health, human services or other community service agency; OR
• Two (2) years' verifiable successful experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• CNA Certification or Medical Assistant certification will qualify for a special entry rate.
