An independent charity is looking for enthusiastic Support Workers for their Summer Activity Schemes in Bedford. This role involves supporting autistic children and young people, providing a fun and safe environment filled with engaging activities. £11.93 – £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Week 1: Mon 28th– Fri 1st Aug
Week 2: Mon 4th Aug – Fri 8th Aug

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic team players to join the Autism Bedfordshire team. Successful applicants will support autistic children and young people attending our summer activity schemes.
Our Summer Activity Schemes are based in Bedford and offer a wide range of onsite activities and community-based experiences for autistic children and young people aged 3 to 17 years. Each scheme is tailored to meet the different needs, interests, ages, and abilities of attendees.
Gain valuable experience supporting children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions across various settings and activities.
Our summer schemes are fast-paced, fun-filled, action-packed days where you will see firsthand the positive impact we can have on families.
Our staff have opportunities to develop and enhance their skills and experience, supporting their future career pathways.
Support Workers should have relevant experience and qualifications. We provide uniform, full training, references, and rewarding experiences for all.
Key responsibilities include assisting in setting up safe areas for activities, promoting social and communication development, supporting children to access and engage with activities, and ensuring safeguarding practices are followed.
The ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in health, education, childcare, or social care, have knowledge of autism, and experience managing challenging behaviour.
