However, if you are new to the role and have a passion for helping others to lead their most independent lives, then Lifeways can offer you excellent training and ongoing support to enable you to enjoy a rewarding career with us.
Our Supported Living service in Welton provides life-changing support for an adult who requires care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be working as part of a team of support staff on a shift pattern rota basis.
You will also be required to provide personal care support to our male service user; experience of this is desirable but not essential.
The person we support is non-verbal and relies on the support team to communicate with him in a way that he understands.
You will need to be vigilant, calm, caring, and patient at all times when supporting him at his home and out in the community.
The person we support enjoys a variety of activities out in the community, at his Day Centre, and with his family who live close by.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to confidently and professionally liaise with his family and other members of his core team to ensure you support him effectively.
A driver is preferred for this position to be able to drive the person’s Motability car.
You will be supported throughout your time with our company by our friendly and supportive staff and management, and will receive additional training tailored to the needs of the customer(s) you support.
“Creating that bond and helping someone to lead a more independent life is the most empowering thing I’ve ever done.” - Liam, Support Worker at Lifeways.
