Job description

Are you an energetic, engaging, and adventurous support worker looking to make a meaningful impact? I am a young man in my late 20s who is seeking motivated support workers to help me live my best life while maintaining my independence and structured routine.

About Me
I am an active and fit individual with a zest for life! I work three days a week, play on a local football team (attending training and games on weekends), and enjoys staying active with gym sessions and swimming—my absolute favourite. I am always up for adventure, having tried cable wave skiing, zip lining, and other exciting activities. If you love exploring the fun side of life, you may be the perfect match!

When it’s time to unwind, I enjoy gardening, solving jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, and spending time in the family boat. I also love getting out for walks in the community. However, loud or unexpected noises—like those in crowded shopping centres—can overstimulate me. Children and birds can also be challenging. Fortunately, there are tried-and-tested measures in place to help manage these situations effectively.

Although I am non-verbal, I communicate through gestures and sounds. Once you get to know me and recognise my cues, understanding me becomes much easier. I am highly engaged, even if I don’t always show it outwardly.

What am I Looking For in a Support Worker
I seek someone who:

Is Energetic and Engaging:You’ll need to bring enthusiasm and motivation to your role—even when communication may feel one-sided.

Understands Routine:I thrive on structure, so you must respect the established routines while knowing when to show initiative within those boundaries.

Supports Independence:Your role is not to do things for me but to guide and support me as I accomplish tasks myself.

Is Adventurous:From swimming to zip lining, I love trying new things—so a sense of adventure is a must!

Communicates Effectively:Recognising my gestures and sounds is key to building a strong connection.

Experience working with individuals who require sensory supports or Positive Behaviour Support strategies is highly desirable.

The Role
This position involves 24-hour shifts (1pm–1pm) under the SCHADS Award. Shifts are available on weekdays and Sundays.

As I transition into my own home—a major milestone in my journey toward independence—you’ll play an integral role in supporting me across all areas of daily living. This includes meal preparation, household tasks, gardening, community outings, and more.

Why Join the Team?
Working with me means being part of a dynamic journey filled with activity, adventure, and personal growth. You’ll collaborate closely with my family and coordinator of supports to ensure I receive the support I needs while maintaining my autonomy.

If you’re ready to bring energy, enthusiasm, and compassion into your work—and love the idea of supporting someone who’s as adventurous as they are structured—apply now! Let’s make this next chapter in my life a successful one!
