Athens Services is seeking a Driver – Class C (Scout and/or Backyard Service) in California. The role operates a pickup with a hydraulic fork system and/or dump containers to service residential and commercial customers, complying with regulations and company policies.

Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 5am–5pm. Salary: $24.64–$26.14 hourly. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and paid time off. EEO statement included.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

• Maintains a safe and clean working vehicle.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Reports any unsafe situations or service calls before attempting service.
• Participates in scheduled training and safety meetings.
• Works with Route Supervisors to improve route efficiencies and identify unsafe accounts.
• Notifies Route Supervisor of incidents or property damage.
• Reports blocked containers or missed pickups on the route.
• Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Route Supervisor.
• Dumps containers and leaves the customer site clean.
• Positions containers correctly during delivery and extraction on route.
• Complete documentation during check-in.
• Provide a positive professional customer attitude.
• Assist other drivers as directed.

Summary

The Driver – Class C (Scout and/or Backyard Service) is responsible for safely operating a pick-up truck paired with a hydraulic powered fork system and/or dump containers which are used to perform assigned duties on container pick-up, delivery, disposal, and recycling, of residential and commercial customers. This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with Company policies.

This position is responsible for efficiently servicing assigned customers, while complying with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with Company policies.

Job Description

• Maintains a safe and clean working vehicle.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Reports any unsafe situations or service calls before attempting service.
• Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings.
• Works closely with Route Supervisors to improve route efficiencies & identify problem or unsafe accounts.
• Notifies Route Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Reports blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route.
• Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Supervisor.
• Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Positions containers on the customer’s property in a correct manner during delivery.
• Extracts containers in a safe and efficient manner during route.
• Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in.
• Provides a positive professional customer attitude when dealing with customers.
• Assists other drivers in completing routes as directed.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Acceptable driving record. (H-6 printout will be requested)
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English / Spanish
• Work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industry.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

• Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously.
• Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, & interpersonal abilities continuously.
• Bending, reaching, stretching, foot (pedaling) and lifting ≤ 50 Lbs. frequently.
• Eye/hand coordination, handling, & wrist motion continuously.

Environmental

• Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, & noise continuously.
• Works outside only.
