Job description

As a Support Teacher at Primrose School of Cross Creek, located at 10301 Cross Creek Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647, you will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to:

1. Plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.

Primrose Schools is an accredited private preschool that provides a premier educational childcare experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage the daily class functions of a group of children.
2. Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Cross Creek and comply with local, state, or national regulatory agencies concerning the health, safety, and care of children.
3. Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules following the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
4. Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom environment that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions confidently.
5. Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children, establishing clear and consistent behavioral expectations.
6. Handle maintenance and housekeeping duties for the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
7. Maintain a professional personal appearance as per the guidelines in the Primrose School of Cross Creek Employee Handbook.
8. Assist in other duties as determined by the Director or designee.

Desired Skills and Experience:

1. Meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
2. Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
3. Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
4. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for handling children, ensuring safety and program facilitation. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, ability to properly lift infants into and out of cribs.
