As a Support Teacher at Primrose School of South Riding located at 43705 Eastgate View Drive Chantilly, VA 20152, you will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.

Primrose School of South Riding is an accredited private preschool that provides a premier educational childcare experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage daily class functions of a group of children.
• Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of South Riding and applicable regulatory agencies regarding health, safety, and care of children.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
• Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom environment that encourages children to explore and make decisions confidently.
• Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear expectations for behavior.
• Handle maintenance and housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
• Maintain professional appearance as per the Employee Handbook.
• Assist in other duties as determined by the Director or designee.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., including handling children and emergency situations. For Infant and Toddler teachers, ability to lift infants into and out of cribs.
