Job summary

The School District Of Osceola County is seeking a Support Staff-Paraprofessional PreK-ESE-Blended at Sunrise Elementary School in Kissimmee, FL. The role supports teachers in delivering IEP-based instruction and requires PK/ESE inservice participation.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with related credentials or hours, plus child development training. CDA credential is desirable. This is a full-time on-site position with a $16.71 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following: From an Accredited College – Associate or Higher Degree or 60 Semester Hours or passing score of 458 or higher on Paraprofessional Test.
• Preferably 30 hours of Children and Family Services (CFS).
• Child Development Training required.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Attend minimum of six hours annually of PK/ESE inservice offered by ESE department.
• Support classroom routines and student supervision as needed.

Job description

The PK/ESE Classroom assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher in carrying out the requirements of the Individual Education Plans of exceptional students. To attend a minimum of six (6) hours annually of PK/ESE inservice offered by the ESE department. Work requires occasional physical exertion and or muscular strain. Work involves several disagreeable elements and or exposure to job hazards where there is some possibility of injury.
