I. Purpose of the Job

To foster a supportive and engaging environment that facilitates students' academic success, personal growth, and overall satisfaction within the institution. Support the faculty in the translation and delivery of their class content.

II. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Admissions and Registration
  • Assist prospective students throughout the admissions process, providing clear information and guidance.
  • Coordinate class registration activities, ensuring a smooth transition for new and returning students.
Communication
  • Communicate effectively with students through multiple channels (email, phone, in person, and social media) regarding registration, programs, events, and resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to disseminate important announcements and updates to students.
  • Manage the office's social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and any additional platforms the office establishes.
Student Support
  • Respond to students' service tickets by providing personalized support and guidance to students, addressing academic, personal, and social needs-such as prayer and accountability.
  • Connect students with appropriate resources and services, including counseling, tutoring, and academic advising.
Events
  • Plan and organize events and activities that enhance student engagement and foster a sense of community.
  • Coordinate logistics, marketing, and outreach for all events.
Student Success
  • Develop and implement initiatives that promote students' success, including workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs.
  • Monitor student progress and intervene as needed to support academic achievement and retention.
Faculty Support:
  • Provide personalized support to HLD Professors addressing translation of content, coordination of substantive interaction meetings, and any other support required for the development of the courses with excellence.
Website and Continuity
  • Keep the FAQ section of the HLD website current.
  • Maintain the office's continuity structure, including its supporting documents for each position in coordination with the Office Admin. Assistant.
Spanish Writing Center
  • Support students seeking assistance with writing assignments.
  • Recruit and train tutors, develop resources, and assess the effectiveness of Writing Center services as needed.
  • Ensure that students' experience with our platforms remains seamless and user-friendly.
  • Monitor and uphold the quality of online course content.
  • III. Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of HLD as needs arise.
  • IV. Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise student workers, tutors, or interns involved in student development activities.

  • Regularly interacts with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders in English and Spanish.

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment but may involve occasional evening or weekend hours for events or meetings.
Qualifications

  • Highly Teachable
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with high proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and translation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to guide others in writing according to Turabian and APA style.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, student development theories and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and standard office software.
  • Computer competency:
