Job summary

Labcorp in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Support Services Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of non-technical staff in the Accessioning and Phlebotomist departments. This role requires leadership to ensure accuracy and timely processing of specimens.

The position emphasizes staff development, quality assurance, and adherence to policies, with a schedule that supports evening to early-morning coverage as needed in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3 years or more experience in clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of non-technical staff for Accessioning and Phlebotomist departments.
• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department.
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage.
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed.
• Research and resolve production errors while escalating when necessary.
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures.

Labcorp is seeking a Support Services Supervisor to join our team in Wayne, NJ.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday availability between 5:00pm-5:00am, additional days and hours may be required.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualification

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 3 years or more experience in clinical laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree
• 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience
• Current or prior Labcorp experience

• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

• Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
