Job summary

Labcorp in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Support Services Supervisor to lead non-technical staff in the Accessioning and Phlebotomist departments. The role ensures staffing coverage, trains personnel, and drives process improvements in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent with 3+ years in clinical laboratory environment.
  • Associates degree preferred with supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the non-technical staff for the Accessioning and Phlebotomist departments
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage
  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures

Labcorp is seeking a Support Services Supervisor to join our team in Wayne, NJ. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday availability between 5:00pm-5:00am, additional days and hours may be required

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the day to day operations of the non-technical staff for the Accessioning and Phlebotomist departments

Minimum Qualification:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent 3 years or more experience in clinical laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience
Job Standards:
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Salary Range:

$55,000 - $75,000 per year

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Benefits:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
