Job summary

Labcorp in East Orange, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. You will provide skilled specimen collections and exceptional customer service while representing Labcorp.

This role supports accurate data entry, specimen processing, and coordination with clinical staff in a fast-paced lab setting. You will perform blood draws, maintain meticulous records, and contribute to timely diagnostic workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with 1+ year phlebotomy experience.
• Industry-standard customer service and communication skills required.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Input patient information accurately in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:30am - 7:00pm and rotating Saturdays 8:30am-5:30pm (off on Wednesday when working Saturday)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay Range: $17.75 - $24.00per hour

Benefits

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
