Job summary

The State of Oregon Commerce and Compliance Division is seeking a Support Services Clerk to perform a variety of clerical tasks including mail preparation, data entry, and scanning documents. The role requires handling financial documents and maintaining accurate records in a busy office environment.

Daily duties include data entry from multiple sources, routine equipment maintenance, and supporting staff with procedures and training as needed.

Qualifications

  • One year of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and college coursework or training in a general office occupation.

  • Enter and verify data from multiple sources into computer systems, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.

  • Scan and image documents for retention, perform quality checks and re-scan as needed to ensure clarity and completeness.
  • Provide clerical support by updating customer records, retrieving files and assisting staff with training and procedure development as needed.

Job Description

Our Commerce and Compliance Division is searching for an office specialist! Join the team and perform a variety of clerical tasks including daily mail preparation, data entry, preparing financial transactions, and scanning documents.

Our daily work involves the following:

Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily outgoing mail by sealing, weighing, labeling and logging items for shipment via USPS and other services.
  • Enter and verify data from multiple sources into computer systems, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment such as scanners, folding machines and labeling tools, including routine cleaning and troubleshooting.
  • Review and process financial documents, including payments, refunds and account corrections.
  • Scan and image documents for retention, perform quality checks and re-scan as needed to ensure clarity and completeness.
  • Provide clerical support by updating customer records, retrieving files and assisting staff with training and procedure development as needed.
  • Work is performed in a typical office environment and includes sitting or standing for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • One year of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An equivalent combination of experience and college coursework or training in a general office occupation.
