Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle is seeking a part-time/on-call Support Service Staff for Permanent Supportive Housing sites in West Seattle and Federal Way. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe space and assisting residents in accessing services and transportation coordination.

Shifts include Day 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Swing 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, and Overnight 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 shifts per month and have at least 1 year of homeless outreach

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in homeless outreach or homeless services
• HS Diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and write in standard English
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Non-profit experience preferred

Responsibilities

This position may also provide support at our Severe Weather Shelters throughout King County, when activated. Applicants must be able to commit to working full shifts, are required to regularly be available a minimum of 3 shifts per month.

Job Description

Safe, habitable, and affordable housing is a basic need. The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) Housing Department provides direct service programs and resources to individuals and families through shelters, transitional housing, rental assistance, and homeownership programs.

ULMS is actively hiring Support Service Staff for our Permanent Supportive Housing sites. The Support Service Staff will support residents by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized space. This position is responsible for providing and/or assisting residents in accessing support services, community integration, life skill training, coordination of transportation, and other needed services

Day Shift: 700 AM - 3:00 PM

Swing Shift: 3:00PM - 11:00PM

Overnight/Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• 1-year experience doing homeless outreach or homeless services
• HS Diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and write in standard English
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Ability to prepare communications, such as memos, emails, reports and other correspondence
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
• Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
• Non-profit experience strongly preferred
