Job summary

Kittitas Interactive Management is seeking a Support & Recovery Advocate to provide recovery-based support and daily living assistance to clients in home and community settings. The role aims to guide clients toward CP graduation by following each client’s Treatment Plan, under supervision of the Training and Program Supervisor.

The position is non-exempt with a pay range of $18.50 to $19.50 per hour. Candidates should be at least 18, pass a background check, and have a valid WA ID or driver's

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Background check cleared by DSHS before working alone with clients.
  • Valid driver's license or Washington State ID.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize and set priorities, and work with staff and clients.
  • Intermediate experience supporting developmentally disabled adults.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Support & Recovery Advocate

Summary

The primary role of the Support & Recovery Advocate (SRA) is to encourage personal growth through recovery-based support as well as providing daily living support to KIM clients in their home and in the community. SRA’s will strive to motivate and encourage clients toward Community Protection (CP) graduation as they follow their therapist’s Treatment Plan. The pay range is $18.50 - $19.50.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge and advocate for the needs, wants, and rights of clients with dignity and respect.
  • Teach useful emotional and behavioral regulation techniques.
  • Identify areas of change as outlined in their therapist’s Treatment Plan that clients on their caseload are working toward.
  • Collaborate with clients to achieve goals resulting in graduation from the CP Program by developing action plans based on their Treatment Plan and suggesting different actions when necessary.
  • Evaluate clients’ advancement toward goal actualization.
  • Collaborate with the client, therapist, and CP Program Manager to identify triggers that could lead to relapse.
  • Encourage continued and sustainable progress.
  • Coordinate goal setting and report progress with clients and management team.
  • Coordinate individualized programs for clients and document activity thoroughly.
  • Assist with client money management such as petty cash, receipts, checkbook and EBT’s.
  • Supervise clients to ensure adequate safety.
  • Keep all hazardous materials, medications, etc. in the designated secured location.
  • Implement a safe and clean environment in which our clients live.
  • Report promptly instances of injuries, behaviors, abuse, and safety hazards, etc. to management, following the Chain of Command.
  • Ensure adequate health care for each client.
  • Ensure clients have access to regular meals.
  • Transport and accompany clients to and from all agency outings, activities, and health appointments, and/or arrange transportation services as appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate documentation for each appointment to management in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with medical offices and pharmacies.
  • Administer medications to clients and document accordingly (if applicable).
  • Assist client with daily hygiene as outlined in care plans, including personal care such as brushing teeth, bathing, hair washing, toileting, etc. (if applicable).
  • Maintain client confidentially.
  • Maintain appropriate staff/client relationships.
  • Safeguard all company and client property.
  • Maintain an ongoing inventory of client’s personal property.
  • Complete all forms, reports, and data sheets for caseload.
  • Be aware and abide by all agency policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisor and management team to report any concerns with clients, scheduling, and/or other staff.
  • Report to work on time.
  • Remain awake and alert while on duty.
  • Abstain from partaking of or possessing any illegal drugs or alcohol while on duty.
  • Perform other responsibilities as defined by management.
Pay

$18.50-19.50/hr

Education And Experience
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Current criminal background check cleared by DSHS before working alone unsupervised with the clients.
  • Valid driver’s license or Washington State ID.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize and set priorities, and the ability to work well with other staff and clients, exhibit job-related competency and ability to make independent judgments.
  • Intermediate experience supporting developmentally disabled adults.

Knowledge And Abilities

Language Skills: Excellent reading comprehension and written communication skills required. For example: ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, reports, technical specifications, governmental regulations, and correspondence. Ability to apply proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format to communications. Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to management and staff.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to do simple math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication. Know how to handle cash and keep a running balance of cash on hand.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve a wide range of practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and complex variables; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; and ability to deal with multiple variables.

Computer Skills: Ability to operate related computer applications (i.e. word processing and spreadsheet applications), and business equipment including personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, and telephone.

Your Work Place

Internally, work is normally performed in a home setting, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, and fumes are very limited. Noise level is moderate and may include sounds of normal household equipment (furnaces, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in the normal performance of job duties.
