Job summary

ITW is seeking a dedicated Support Operator for its Sexton Division facility in Decatur, AL. You will assist in routine production-line operations, prep and package products for transit, and maintain accurate shift counts while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to SOPs, and ongoing cross-training across lines to ensure efficient, safe production and alignment with ITW’s core values.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing experience highly desired.
• Ability to lift boxes and tooling as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support routine operations on at least one production line.
• Prepping and packaging product, tracking output, and maintaining a clean, safe area.
• Follow SOPs, assist with quality checks, and communicate issues to supervisors.

Job Description

The support operator works in a team environment andis responsible forsupporting the routine operations of at least one production line. This roleis responsible forprepping and packaging the product for transit, keepingan accuratecount of the product produced on the shift,monitoringqualityandmaintainingan organized, clean, and safe work area.and overall, plays a key role in keeping the production line functioning safely and smoothly.

Essential Functions:

• Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and health/safety/environmental requirements.
• Communicate with associate(s) frompreviousshifts and other line team members about safety, quality, and production issues.
• Fill double seamer withappropriate sizeand style canbottoms.
• Utilize a dial indicator and a go/no-go gauge.
• Monitor the tester and communicate any issues to the Quality Team, Shift Supervisor, and Maintenance Team.
• Follow customer packaging requirements and meet company core values.
• Obtain cross-training on all linesand canstyles.
• Share responsibility with other operators to complete all work-related documentation.
• Maintain a clean work environment by following housekeeping instructions and 5-S philosophy.
• Work overtime and perform other duties asrequired.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GEDrequired.
• Previousexperience in manufacturing environmenthighlydesired.
• Able to lift boxes, tooling and other objects as needed.
