The Amazon Payment Services team is responsible for building product and technology solutions to create excellent payments products and experiences using various technologies to solve complex problems related to distributed systems, scalable architecture, machine learning, and algorithms. Key job responsibilities
  • Mentor and train other support engineers on daily activities
  • Support software deployment in staging and production environments
  • Handle incoming tickets with extensive troubleshooting across multiple products, features, and services
  • Work on operations and maintenance coding projects, primarily in Python, Perl, shell scripts, web technologies, and potentially Java
  • Develop tools to assist operations and maintenance
  • Report system and support status
  • Own one or more digital products or components
  • Coordinate customer notifications and workflows to maintain SLAs
  • Collaborate with support teams for issue hand-offs and knowledge base development
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 1 year of software development or 2 years of technical support experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience with Unix and Java
  • Scripting experience in modern programming languages (e.g., Kotlin)
  • Experience working in agile/scrum environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot and document findings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of distributed and enterprise applications
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful API calls
  • Java experience
