Job Title

Support Automation and Deployment Engineer

In this job you will:

Purpose of the role:

The Support Automation and Deployment Engineer role is to dedicate the attention of a full-time engineer to an ever-growing list of deployments, each with their own specifics. The role also requires working end-to-end on project setups, including AWS infrastructure, networking, deployment pipelines, and monitoring solutions. This role is not a typical DevOps position; it requires a specific mindset, attitude, and background skills. Persistence through learning curves and adaptability to new technologies are essential. The engineer will interact with the Support Automation team and manage all team requests. Additionally, the role includes being on call for high-priority operational issues.

Job Scope:

1. Project Planning:
   • Participate in strategic project planning meetings.
   • Provide guidance on system options, risks, impact, and costs versus benefits.
   • Create operational requirements and development forecasts for planning.
2. Development:
   • Maintain and support IT solutions.
   • Install, configure solutions, implement reusable components, translate requirements, assist with test data, develop interface stubs, and perform script maintenance.
3. Deployment:
   • Build automated deployment procedures using configuration management tools.
   • Deploy modules, upgrades, and fixes in production.
   • Prepare modules for production, document procedures, and transfer knowledge.
4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
   • Perform routine application maintenance.
   • Create procedures for maintenance tasks.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve system errors.
5. Infrastructure setup and maintenance:
   • Design and implement AWS infrastructure for new projects.
   • Assist in troubleshooting during high-severity incidents.
   • Be available as an escalation point per standby roster.

About the ideal candidate:

• Qualifications in a relevant discipline from college or university.
• Industry experience required; Amadeus knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and Python.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS.
• 2-5 years experience in DevOps, Cloud Development, or Automation Deployment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, CloudFormation/Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Coding experience for IT Robotics/Automation.
• Proven operational support experience of at least 2 years.
• Certifications in ITIL or AWS are a plus.
• Ability to manage change and communicate effectively across levels.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Teamwork and adaptability in a hybrid work setup in BGC Taguig.
