Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL seeks a Dietary Services Aide to support receiving and storage of groceries and meals in the café and dietary areas.

The role involves verifying shipments, inspecting for damage, performing temperature checks on potentially hazardous foods, attaching invoices to purchase orders, and ensuring proper, timely storage of items. Training is provided; benefits outlined in the staff package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Hospital food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies accuracy of shipment by counting, weighing or measuring items and comparing to information on invoice or packing slip and purchase order.
• Inspects items for damages or defects such as spoilage, dents, and breakage.
• Performs temperature checks of potential hazardous foods.
• Attaches invoice to purchase order and forward to Dietary Office for recording.
• Prioritizes storage of items received, stocking frozen and refrigerated items immediately upon receipt.
• Stock grocery items stored at room temperature last.
• Carries, hand truck or pallet jack items from receiving area to proper storage areas.
