Duties
- Performs research to resolve inventory discrepancies. Investigates stock/record/material discrepancies impacting inventory balances.
- Receives communications concerning discrepancies involving material inspections, issues, shipments, receipts, storage, and inventory adjustments from external sources or local processing.
- Performs physical inventory counts, material inspections, and location surveys. Updates records based on cyclic inspections and researches receipt discrepancies for record adjustments.
- Receives information on discrepancies, investigates materials, and responds to defective material messages supporting the COSIS program.
- Assists in developing quality control plans and process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and accountability. Supports cyclic inspections and discrepancy processing.
- May operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts and stock selectors to move materials.

Qualifications
To qualify, your resume must demonstrate:
- One year of specialized experience in inventory research, investigations, or related tasks.
- For GS-06, one year of experience equivalent to GS-05 or higher.
Creditable experience includes conducting physical inventories, investigating discrepancies, and preparing related reports. Volunteer work and unpaid experience are also considered.
Physical Effort
Research, survey, and count activities may involve heavy and bulky materials, some weighing up to 70 pounds, and operating MHE.
Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, involving moderate risks requiring safety precautions, including protective gear.
Education
Education above GS-5 is generally not credited unless directly related. Provide transcripts or documentation to support educational claims. Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
