Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking a Supply Technician to support the Supply Chain Services team at the Miami Beach campus.

You will handle deliveries, inventory replenishment, and coordination with Surgical Services and Central Processing to ensure stock levels meet case needs. The role involves processing orders, performing cycle counts, and maintaining sterility and safety in storerooms.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting; warehouse materials handling preferred.
  • Experience using an automated inventory system and knowledge of medical/surgical products preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives assignments from Manager/Supervisor and completes tasks per Supply Chain Services policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a cordial relationship with all team members and customers.
  • Acts as Supply Chain Service's liaison and resource between Surgical Services, Central Processing Department and other hospital departments, staff members, patients, patient family, visitors and vendors.
  • Assists Central Processing with deliveries to the floors and other daily departmental operations; performs inventory replenishment for stock and equipment, processes receipts of all supply and equipment received.
  • Performs daily inventory updates and adjustments through cycle counts and the preference list process to maintain established inventory par levels.
  • Utilizes the automated Supply Chain system to process daily replenishment orders for stock and non-stock supplies.
  • Brakes down delivered packages and verifies purchase orders against delivery slips; notes discrepancies and advises supervisor.
  • Ensures overnight orders are given priority and delivered promptly to the charge nurse the same day of receipt.
  • Prompts receives and refrigerates packages requiring refrigeration; handle medical/surgical supplies and equipment on priority basis as directed by supervisor.
  • Rotates stock to ensure oldest stock is used next; inspect for expired items and remove expired items from stock.
  • Reports damaged supplies and/or equipment to management and labels appropriately.
  • Assists in inventory replenishment using automated inventory programs for supply replenishment, tissue and equipment tracking.
  • Reviews surgery schedule to ensure special request items, non-stock, and inventory items are available for surgical cases.
  • Confirms inventory by visual inspection; reports discrepancies to supervisor and makes adjustments.
  • Prepares surgical services case carts using the preference card pick ticket and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.

Insures all case cart documentations are complete.* Restricts unauthorized persons from the MM-OR storeroom and Central Processing Departments.
