Job description

This position serves as Supply Technician (Medical) for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of Logistics Service within the VA Health Care System and supported catchment area in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a Supply Technician, you will provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/22/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-04. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Driver's License Requirement: Incumbent must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license for this position. (Please do not submit a copy of your license with your application package. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to Provides wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instruments sets, and equipment.
• Utilizes computerized systems including bar-coding and automated inventory systems for the delivery and inventory control of supplies.
• Delivers supplies in a timely and accurate manner, ensures supplies and material are delivered in sterile and operational condition.
• Ensures critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled.
• Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required by outdates.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed 4 years above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university..

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and post high school education as described above that demonstrates my ability to perform the duties of this position. For the GS-05, only education in excess of 60 semester hours (2 years) is creditable..

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Two + years warehouse experience, ability to sit/ stand for potential lengthy durations, ability to life items of varying weight as needed and sometimes repetitively, ability to safely operate Gov. vehicles to perform duties as required.
