Piper Companies is seeking a Supplier Selection Lead in Audubon, PA to oversee supplier identification, evaluation, and selection for manufacturing operations. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings, assessing capabilities, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production and strategic sourcing.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in a related field, 4+ years in supply chain or procurement within manufacturing, and hands-on ERP/MRP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, planning, manufacturing engineering, or operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and/or MRP systems.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities with reporting experience.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing or healthcare manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to identify manufacturing needs and sourcing requirements.
• Assess and select suppliers based on manufacturing capabilities, production capacity, quality standards, pricing, and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and supply chain departments to coordinate sourcing activities and meet project deadlines.
• Leverage ERP/MRP systems to evaluate material requirements, monitor supplier performance, and assist with production planning.
• Maintain direct communication with suppliers to evaluate manufacturing capabilities, address challenges, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Drive supplier engagement for both new product introductions and existing manufacturing programs while contributing to strategic sourcing initiatives.

This individual will oversee the identification, assessment, and selection of suppliers to support manufacturing operations. The position requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, assess supplier capabilities, and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain efficient production processes and effective sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities of the Supplier Selection Lead:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business, or a relayed discipline preferred
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, planning, manufacturing engineering, or operations within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manufacturing specifications
• Hands on experience utilizing ERP and/or MRP systems
• Strong analytical abilities, including advanced excel skills and experience with reporting tools
• Previous experience in medical device manufacturing, healthcare manufacturing , procurement, or production planning is preferred

Compensation for the Supplier Selection Lead Includes:

• Salary range: $85,000 - $90,000
