Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Supply Room Clerk for Plant RP in Ringgold, GA. The role maintains ready supplies, verifies inventory and issues purchase orders as directed, with a 12-hour rotating shift.

Pay is hourly and commensurate with responsibilities in a large, diversified flooring manufacturer. The position requires basic computer skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the capacity to work in varying temperatures while maintaining accuracy in stock records and processes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English.
• Basic computer skills including data entry.
• Must understand filing systems and paperwork flow.
• Must be able to sit/stand intermittently for an 8 hour shift.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck (eye test required).
• Must lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Able to withstand temperature and humidity changes.
• Work in small areas with twisting, bending, reaching.
• Overtime may be required.
• Rotating 12-hour shift with AM start times.

Responsibilities

• Contact vendors to order parts and materials as needed.
• File and manage all receipts of purchase.
• Stock inventory in appropriate locations.
• Update inventory levels on computer as items are received.
• Adjust inventory levels on computer and charge departments when issued.
• Generate weekly reports for accounting.
• Operate a lift truck in shipping/receiving area.
• Perform periodic physical inventories.
• General housekeeping in the supply area.
• Support waste and recycling program processes.
• Serve on committees as needed.

Job description

Supply Room Clerk - B Shift

To maintain a ready supply of the parts needed to fulfill the needs of the departments within Plant RP. This position also verifies the inventory of parts and supplies, contacts vendors when necessary and issues purchase orders when directed.

Pay Rate: $19.59. Location: Plant RP (Ringgold, GA). Shift: 12 Hours Day Shift (Swing Shift).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Contact vendors to order parts and materials as needed.
• File and manage all receipts of purchase.
• Stock inventory in appropriate locations.
• Update inventory levels on computer as items are received.
• Adjust inventory levels on computer and charge departments when supplies and parts are issued.
• Generate weekly report for accounting department.
• Operate a lift truck to pick up shipments in shipping/receiving area.
• Perform periodic physical inventories.
• General Housekeeping in the supply area
• Any other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• Maintain the process of the waste and recycling program
• Serve on committees as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to withstand exposure to changes in temperature and humidity.
• Must be able to work in small areas using upper and lower body in twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching positions daily.
• Must be able to work required overtime.
• Work Shift 12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts AM, days change only
