Position Summary:

In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of supply planning within our fast-paced Gummy Manufacturing Plant. Your key responsibilities will include, ensuring effective supply planning for finished goods while meeting targeted service levels, optimizing inventory management and minimizing waste and building and maintaining strong relationships with factory, corporate planning and co-manufacturing locations to ensure that supply plans optimize total delivered costs and effectively respond to market demands. You will also manage daily scheduling activities to maximize output at our facility. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring the timely supply of materials for production, directly enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional customer service through the prompt availability of finished goods.

Important note: This position requires you to be present on-site full-time at the San Antonio, TX manufacturing site, five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cost-effective management of supply and production planning, as well as co-manufacturing and co-packing requirements.
  • Provide supply plans that optimize supply, service, and inventory while considering production constraints and the total delivered cost impact.
  • Support short-term and long-term capacity planning in close collaboration with factories to proactively identify and resolve potential capacity issues.
  • Ensure that customer service and timing objectives are met within existing financial constraints to align with marketing and financial goals.
  • Balance supply needs across all available sourcing locations, including factories and co-manufacturers.
  • Identify and analyze build stock requirements and timing based on production availability and strategic decisions, while effectively communicating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular communication with the cross-functional team regarding product availability and critical items, highlighting risks of customer shortages, back-in-stock projections, root causes of issues, and preventative actions to avoid future occurrences.
  • Present supply outlooks (days on hand, service levels, projected future working capital, factory performance) to NHS leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Gather all necessary inputs from other operational functions that impact the supply outlook.

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; will consider candidates with 3+ years of experience in Production or Inventory Control/Materials Planning in lieu of a degree.
  • Required experience in Production, Inventory Control, Materials Planning, or Production Scheduling.
  • Solid manufacturing and production operations experience.
  • Expertise in demand and supply planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate-level expertise in Excel required, including knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and similar functions.
  • Experience with Oracle, AS400, or SAP is highly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrating a strong drive to effect positive change at various levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional prioritization skills to manage tasks and responsibilities with agility and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Service-oriented approach, committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Active listening skills to understand and address the needs of team members and customers.
