Purpose of the job

As a Supply Planner for our Stationery category, you will be responsible for developing and executing supply plans to ensure product availability while balancing service, inventory, and cost objectives. This role partners cross-functionally with North America Commercial, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Excellence, and Logistics to deliver strong performance across key metrics, including OTIF, Service Level & Cuts, Product Not Available (PNA), Purchase Forecast Accuracy to factories, Days of Coverage, and SLOB.

This position plays a role in enabling execution of a portion of the Stationery business, supporting approximately 27% of category volume, ~$70M in off-invoice sales, and ~200M units annually across a complex network.

What You’ll Do:
Supply Planning & Execution
  • Develop and maintain short- and medium-term supply plans for finished goods and bulk items, ensuring alignment with demand and inventory targets.
  • Analyze demand signals, inventory levels, and supply constraints to proactively identify risks and implement mitigation actions.
  • Execute weekly planning cycles, ensuring supply plans remain aligned with evolving demand, capacity, and inventory positions.
  • Manage planning parameters (e.g., safety stock, lead times) to optimize system outputs and inventory health.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with NAM Commercial and Demand Planning teams to align short- and long-term demand plans, including risks, opportunities, and new product setups within planning systems (JDE, Blue Yonder).
  • Communicate supply risks, backorder recovery timelines, and root causes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Support decision-making on product allocation and prioritization to protect service levels and key customer commitments.
Supplier, Manufacturing & Co-Packing Coordination
  • Collaborate with BIC-owned factories and OEM partners to align regional supply needs with production capacity, including purchase forecast submission and prioritization of constrained items.
  • Coordinate with co-packing facilities (e.g., Saltillo - Mexico and Charlotte - North Carolina Packaging Centers) to balance bulk supply with packaging capacity and manage order flow.
  • Manage intracompany orders and monitor execution to ensure timely production and shipment of goods.
Deployment & Logistics Coordination
  • Partner with deployment, customer service, and logistics teams to manage inventory allocation and redeployment across the network (e.g., Arlington, TX to Charlotte, NC).
  • Track inbound shipments, identify delays, and drive follow-ups to minimize service disruption.
  • Support backorder management by providing clear recovery timelines and supply visibility.
Performance Management & Problem Solving
  • Monitor and analyze key KPIs, including OTIF, Service Level & Cuts, PNA, forecast accuracy, inventory, SLOB, and days of coverage.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on supply disruptions, service failures, and inventory imbalances, implementing corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, system usage, and cross-functional alignment.
Systems & Data Management
  • Utilize Blue Yonder and JD Edwards (JDE) to manage supply plans across multiple business units.
  • Maintain accurate master data and ensure data integrity within planning systems.
  • Leverage reporting and analytics to support decision-making and improve supply visibility.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in supply chain, planning, operations, or a related role within a manufacturing or CPG environment.
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, inventory management, and production planning.
  • Experience with planning systems such as Blue Yonder preferred; ERP experience (e.g., JD Edwards) a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate a fast-paced, complex supply environment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement or process optimization is a plus.
  • Spanish, French or Portuguese understanding are a plus
