As part of the Supply and Demand Planning Team, the Supply Planning Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the availability of raw materials and finished goods to support manufacturing and distribution operations. The role is responsible for balancing supply and demand, optimizing inventory levels, and collaborating cross-functionally to support business continuity and growth. This person must have an extensive knowledge of complex blood and plasma processing, market and regulatory requirements, and be able to analyze and offer contingency plans when situations arise that may impact the supply plan.
The Supply Planning Specialist must be able to analyze, manage, motivate, negotiate, and initiate discussions regarding complex situations in order to support company success. This position has global influence, balancing production plans with global production capacities and ensuring proper process controls, reporting systems, flexibility to demand signals, optimized revenue plans, production throughput, efficiencies, and on-time delivery metrics.
Develop and maintain supply plans (MTS and MTO) with the appropriate product mix, sizes, and concentrations to meet forecasted demand while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
Manage complex planning variables including:
Established lead times.
Manufacturing constraints.
Work-in-Process (WIP) inventory.
Intercompany transfers.
Regulatory and quality parameters.
Lot sizes.
Days-on-hand finished goods inventory.
SKU-level inventory management.
Dynamic sales forecasts.
Ensure raw materials and components are available to support production.
Communicate and lead teams in achieving established supply plans supporting financial and delivery objectives.
Develop and execute capacity plans for designated manufacturing areas and associated products.
Make decisions regarding:
Planned downtime.
Unplanned downtime.
Project implementation.
Manufacturing constraints.
Production opportunities to maximize throughput.
Ensure timely resolution of production flow issues.
Escalate systemic issues beyond Supply Planner scope.
Analyze sales forecasts and demand requirements.
Identify production and supply bottlenecks.
Recommend and implement corrective actions.
Communicate capacity overloads and mitigation strategies to Vista manufacturing leadership and senior management.
Direct Production Planners to ensure timely execution of forecasted demand.
Ensure product availability for customer orders and on-time shipments.
Provide alternative production strategies when supply or demand plans deviate.
Maintain a detailed 3-month batch allocation forecast supporting market demand.
Monitor forecast changes and communicate updates across the organization.
Collaborate with manufacturing department and product leads to balance manufacturing constraints with production plans.
Prepare long-term production and supply plans for Senior Management across:

Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Independently implement process improvements.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Science, or a related field required. Advanced Degree preferred.
Minimum 6 years of work experience in Production Planning, Supply Planning, or an equivalent planning/manufacturing environment.
Experience in a Biological or Pharmaceutical environment preferred.
APICS (Advancing Productivity Innovation and Competitive Success) or similar professional certification preferred.
