Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) seeks a merchandising systems support professional to aid end-users, troubleshoot, test, and train on merchandising applications, acting as a liaison to IT.

The role includes supervising data-entry workflows, maintaining system variables for the merchandising hierarchy and supplier management, and developing MR procedures. Strong Excel reporting and end-user support are required.

Qualifications

• Three years general experience in administrative/merchandise work enabling knowledge of merchandising procurement practices or EDI capabilities.
• Education substitution: one year of education above high school for nine months of experience up to a bachelor’s degree.
• One year specialized experience in procurement practices databases and worksheets or similar procurement/EDI work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate data entry workflow within the merchandise information systems group and maintain system variables.
• Supervise Merchandise Business Technicians.
• Maintain system variables related to Merchandise Organization Hierarchy and Supplier management.
• Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training on new methods to business users.
• Develop and implement MR workgroup procedures across areas of responsibility.
• Plan, prioritize, and schedule workflow within the group.
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry.
• Monitor and resolve end-user requests; coordinate with IT when needed.
• Use Microsoft Excel to design reports and troubleshoot system issues.
• Distribute all merchandising reports and prints.
• Report to a Supply Chain Systems Support Analyst.
• Develop and maintain an internet/intranet site for Code MR.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the supervision and workflow of data entry processes within the merchandise information systems group. Responsible for the maintenance of system variables within the merchandising system.
• Supervision of Merchandise Business Technicians.
• Responsible for the maintenance of system variables as it relates to management of the Merchandise Organizational Hierarchy and Supplier management within the Merchandising system.
• Provides technical guidance assistance and training on new methods and procedures to business users.
• Maintains develops documents and implements MR work group procedures related to all areas of responsibility.
• Plans prioritize and schedule the flow of work within the work group.
• Ensures the data entry process is accomplished in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor and resolve requests from end users within an established timeframe as it relates to the merchandising systems. Partner with IT when necessary to identify and determine a resolution.
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel to design reports and troubleshoot system issues.
• Responsible for the distribution of all merchandising related reports and prints.
• Reports directly to a Supply Chain Systems Support Analyst.
• Develops and maintains an internet and intranet site for Code MR.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Total of 4 years of experience consisting of the following

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Three years general experience which was gained in administrative merchandise technical or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a knowledge of merchandising procurement practices or EDI transaction capabilities PC literate skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.

OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:

One year of education above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience up to a maximum of a four-year bachelor s degree for three years of general experience.

AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

One year experience which provided background in procurement practices databases and worksheets etc. Or similar work that demonstrated the knowledge and ability within the procurement or EDI operational technical area.
