Responsibilities

  • Maintain ARL’s Supply Chain Information Management system and supplier data.
  • Provide supply chain help-desk support for research, engineering, and procurement processes.
  • Assist with file exchange user support, password resets, MFA resets and account setup.
  • Manage permissions in file exchange spaces and remove inactive accounts.
  • Set up new folder structures and group permissions as requested.
  • Troubleshoot file access issues and investigate application problems.
  • Support yearly audits of data exchange and supply chain systems.
  • Help automate supply chain tasks and improve user experience.
  • Create and update support documentation.

Job Description And Position Requirements

We are searching for a self-disciplined, highly motivated, and customer service-oriented individual for the role of Supply Chain Support Specialist Intern to join our Supply Chain Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. This position will be responsible for supporting various supply chain functions including customer support for ARL’s secure data exchange and supplier information management system.

ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.

You will:
  • Maintain ARL’s Supply Chain Information Management system, including supplier compliance and technical capabilities
  • Provide Supply Chain help-desk customer support for research & engineering activities, and business & material acquisition processes
  • Assist file exchange users with password resets, MFA resets, new account setup and unlock suspended accounts
  • Add/remove permissions to file exchange share spaces and delete inactive user accounts
  • Set up new file folder structures as requested by ARL staff and create group permissions
  • Troubleshoot any file access issues
  • Investigate application issues, perform cause analysis, and take corrective actions
  • Perform yearly audits ARL’s secure data exchange and Supply Chain Information Management system
  • Automate supply chain work functions, services, and processes to be more efficient and user friendly
  • Create/update support documentation
Required skills/experience areas include:
  • Ability to use and apply AI in a business environment
  • Past success in providing ideas in written form for clear comprehension to an audience
  • Demonstrated ability to work through a difficult problem, using proper steps to define and formulate ideas to reach a solution

Preferred skills/experience areas include:
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required

The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours/week during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. This is a paid internship opportunity located at ARL in State College, PA. Relocation and housing are not provided.
