Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to support inventory accuracy, 3PL logistics, and supply chain execution at our Fairburn, GA site. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, data analysis, and adherence to SOX controls. 2+ years in logistics or related fields, and ERP experience (Oracle R12) are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in logistics, supply chain, inventory control, warehouse operations, or related disciplines.
  • 1+ years of experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle R12.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or related process-improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor 3PL performance, review service levels, and ensure operational requirements.
  • Analyze inventory data and report on levels, turns, shortages, and excess.
  • Investigate inbound receiving discrepancies and coordinate corrections.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, variance investigations, and annual physical inventories.
  • Maintain ABC/XYZ classifications for inventory planning.
  • Collaborate with procurement, planning, ops, and CS to optimize availability.
  • Ensure SOX-compliant inventory transactions and controls.
  • Support audits by gathering docs and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to boost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on discrepancies and implement actions.
  • Partner with CS and warehousing to resolve stockouts and shipping issues.
  • Assist with returns, disposition, and obsolete inventory processes.
  • Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve performance.

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for supporting inventory accuracy, logistics operations, and supply chain execution within our third-party logistics (3PL) network. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure efficient material flow, inventory integrity, and compliance with established business controls. The Supply Chain Specialist will coordinate inventory processes including cycle counting, physical inventories, inventory classification maintenance, discrepancy resolution, and inventory reporting. This position will also support continuous improvement initiatives designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve inventory accuracy, reduce costs, and support customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and support third-party logistics (3PL) provider performance by reviewing service levels, inventory accuracy metrics, and adherence to established operational requirements.
  • Analyze inventory data and prepare reports on inventory levels, inventory turns, shortages, excess inventory, and other key performance indicators.
  • Investigate and resolve inbound receiving discrepancies by working with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely correction of errors.
  • Coordinate and support cycle count activities, including schedule adherence, variance investigation, and inventory record reconciliation and annual Physical Inventory activities to ensure accurate inventory documentation.
  • Maintain and update ABC/XYZ inventory classifications to support effective inventory planning and management strategies.
  • Partner with procurement, planning, operations, and customer service teams to optimize inventory availability while minimizing excess stock and shortages.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are processed in accordance with SOX requirements, company policies, and Accounting Limitation of Authority (LOA) guidelines.
  • Support inventory-related audits by gathering documentation, validating inventory records, and assisting with corrective action implementation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, material flow, and process standardization.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory performance.
  • Collaborate with customer service and warehouse operations to resolve inventory-related issues, including stockouts, shipping discrepancies, and material availability concerns.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational performance.
  • Assist with returns processing and inventory disposition activities, ensuring accurate inventory adjustments and proper documentation.
  • Coordinate activities associated with obsolete and excess inventory, including identification, reporting, and disposition recommendations.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, inventory control, warehouse operations, materials planning, or related disciplines.
  • 1+ years of experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle R12.

  • Ability to learn Oracle navigation to assist Warehouse management with priority shipments
Preference
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Experience utilizing reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, KNIME, SQL, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices, cycle counting, physical inventory processes, and warehouse operations.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or related certification is preferred.
