This is a challenging opportunity with a global pneumatic valve manufacturing company as a Supply Chain Specialist. We are seeking an analytical, organized, and motivated Supply Chain Specialist to work across Production Control, Purchasing, and Inventory Control. Using ERP systems, operational reports, and cross-functional collaboration, this position helps maintain material availability, establish production priorities, strengthen supplier performance, and improve supply-chain processes.
Responsibilities
Production Planning and Scheduling
- Schedule and prioritize work for the Machine Shop and Assembly departments based on customer demand, production capacity, material availability, inventory levels, and delivery requirements.
- Monitor production schedules and address material shortages, capacity constraints, and other issues that may affect customer delivery.
- Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and corrective actions to affected departments.
Purchasing and Supplier and Commodity Management
- Create, place, monitor, and expedite purchase orders.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, shortages, quality concerns, and order status.
- Negotiate with suppliers to improve pricing, lead times, delivery performance, and purchasing terms.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers in partnership with Quality, Engineering, and other departments.
- Expand the capabilities of existing suppliers by qualifying them to manufacture additional parts.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information in the ERP system and assist with supplier‑performance monitoring.
Reporting, Systems, and Process Improvement
- Become proficient in the ERP applications and reporting tools used by the Supply Chain department.
- Read, interpret, and act upon reports supporting production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and supplier performance.
- Prepare recurring reports and performance metrics using Excel and ERP data.
- Identify supply‑chain trends, risks, shortages, and improvement opportunities.
- Help develop and improve reports, workflows, data accuracy, and supply‑chain processes.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as necessary to support Supply Chain and manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- One to three years of experience in supply chain or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and present data.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, charts, and data analysis.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Epicor Kinetic or another manufacturing ERP system.
- Familiarity with production scheduling, material requirements planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Experience preparing operational reports or performance dashboards.
- Familiarity with supplier sourcing, qualification, and performance management.
- Fluency in Chinese, a plus
