Job summary

Moog is seeking a Supply Chain Product Line Lead to head a team of procurement professionals at our East Aurora site near Buffalo, NY. You will ensure compliant PO placement, supplier management, and value stream focused process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The role is onsite in East Aurora, with travel to suppliers as needed. A bachelor's degree in business or engineering and at least five years in supply chain or related fields are required; formal Six Sigma/Lean

Job Title: Supply Chain Product Line Lead

Reporting To: Mgr., Supply Chain

Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY

MoogICS team is currently seeking a Supply Chain Product Line Lead to join the East Aurora site Supply Chain team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be leading a team of procurement professionals. This includes ensuring compliant purchase order placement and supplier management for a specific value stream(s). Additionally, you will lead process improvement through collaboration with cross functional teams.

Your role will be onsite located in East Aurora, New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline (ex: Supply Chain, Business, Engineering)
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the field of Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Engineering; with two (2) years should include experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams within Supply Chain or Operations.
• Deep knowledge of MBS and/or SAP modules and transactions in the areas of planning, purchase order placement, maintenance, and inventory.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and resolve escalations and maintain positive relationships with both suppliers and customers.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and experience with continuous improvement tools (ex: 5Y, A3, 8D).
• Formal Six Sigma/Lean training is desirable but not required.
• Excellent communication abilities at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, assembly drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Willingness to travel on occasion to suppliers and/or other Moog sites (10%)
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of Supply Specialists. This includes providing guidance, support, and mentorship to your team members in the form of setting expectations, providing feedback, and fostering professional growth.
• Acting as the primary focal point and first level of escalation between Supply Chain Procurement and Operations Teams for all procurement activities within a specific value stream(s). This involves coordinating and facilitating communication between internal customers and suppliers.
• Overseeing the placement of purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery. In case of any issues or delays, you will be responsible for implementing appropriate actions to resolve them. Key process indicators may include aging buy signals, expedites or delays in orders, non-conformances, and past due incoming orders, etc.
• Updating part-specific procurement strategies and/or DDMRP parameters as well as reviewing and updating procurement strategies for specific parts or products. This may involve adjusting buffer types, minimum order quantity, safety stock, and other parameters to align with the business needs.
• Capacity planning and managing workload across the Supply Specialists to ensure the optimal level of support for the value stream(s).
• Attending and actively participating in daily/weekly accountability/tiered meetings to effectively communicate updates to the value stream(s) and ensure alignment of priorities.
• Leading cross-functional teams for process improvement: You will take the lead in forming and guiding cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements across different supply chain functions. This includes both internal and external-facing processes.
