Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Piney Flats, TN is seeking a Supply Chain Procurement Professional to negotiate complex subcontracts and manage major suppliers for aircraft programs.

The role is onsite in Piney Flats, with responsibilities spanning PO management, pricing, supplier qualification, and cost-reduction initiatives. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure affordability and quality, while adhering to FAR/DFARS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 2 years in purchasing, strategic sourcing, contract admin, financial/cost analysis, or commodity pricing.
• Ability to travel up to 10% annually or as needed.
• Proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint (Microsoft Office).
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with FAR/DFARS preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard purchasing within an assigned commodity to ensure timely delivery.
• Interface for subcontract administration of major systems and components for aircraft production.
• Manage purchase orders, pricing adherence, inventory analysis, supplier qualification, long-term agreements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
• Apply approved procedures and ensure contractual obligations with Bell Helicopter and suppliers.
• Provide supplier data to IBP and other disciplines as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

In this position, you will negotiate and administer complex subcontracts and uses discretionary latitude to negotiate financial, contractual, technical terms, conditions, and provisions to establish and maintain major subcontracts.

This position is onsite in Piney Flats, Tennessee.

What you’ll be doing as a Supply Chain Procurement Professional:

• Execute standard purchasing procedures within an assigned commodity to ensure the timely delivery of supplies and materials.


• Serve as key interface for subcontract administration of major systems and complex components for aircraft production, product upgrade and new program development.


• Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, purchase order management, competitive pricing adherence, inventory analysis, new supplier qualification and negotiation of long-term agreements.


• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations to facilitate cost reduction initiatives that enhance overall affordability and quality of our aircraft.


• Utilize discretionary latitude within approved purchasing procedures and compliance for all contractual obligations regarding Bell Helicopter and the Supplier. Establish and maintain comprehensive and current subcontracts that adhere to program requirements and obligations.


• As required, obtain and furnish supplier data to other functional disciplines and IBP (Integrated Business Planning) management.


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills You Bring to This Role:

• Bachelor’s degree required.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, commodity management, contract administration, financial analysis, cost analysis, or commodity/raw materials pricing.


• Ability to travel up to 10% a year or as business needs dictate.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)


• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and act on complex data.


• Self‑motivated with demonstrated initiative and follow‑through.


• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.


• Experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) is preferred.


• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including typing, viewing screens, and navigating multiple software systems.


• Occasional movement throughout office and manufacturing environments, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs when visiting production areas or meeting with cross‑functional teams.


• Ability to lift and carry small items (generally under 20 lbs), such as documents, laptops, or materials needed for meetings or supplier visits.


• Must be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in group settings.


• May require wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while in designated manufacturing or supplier areas.
