Summary/Objective

Holmatro Incorporated, a leading rescue tool OEM, is seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain & Procurement Lead. We are looking for a candidate with 5-7 years of supply chain and procurement ERP experience, specifically in managing business processes and controls. This position is a strategic manager role primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and managing supply chain and procurement processes and solutions leveraging Kanban and Lean principles. The successful candidate will oversee 2 buyers and a supply chain specialist.

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization to determine business process owner(s) and/or subject area ownership, establish organizational accountability, policies, standards, and procedures related to procurement, material planning, and supply chain management.
  • Lead the procurement department to ensure end-to-end management of vendors (both new and existing), enhance buying processes and controls, and optimize inventory levels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Manage existing vendor relationships: understand business needs/forecast, align on material needs, and communicate with vendors to reduce delays and maximize annual inventory position.
    • Establish new supply sources where necessary: establish and document onboarding procedures needed to qualify them as new sources, and assist in resolution of production, design, quality, and delivery problems.
    • Enhance supplier scorecards and develop KPIs to track and summarize vendor performance, specifically on pricing, on-time delivery, and quality.
    • Perform market analysis to leverage prices, trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing improvements to optimize cost, quantity, and lead times across the vendor network.
    • Manage relationships with customs clearance agencies and freight forwarders to optimize lead time and import costs.
    • Improve terms and conditions on purchase orders.
  • Manage the newly implemented Kanban system:
    • Analyze and maintain reorder points and suggested order quantities for relevant items.
    • Define key metrics for the supply chain and warehousing processes.
    • Document and train staff on standard operating procedures aligned with the Kanban system.
    • Identify and lead process improvements to optimize inventory levels, improve turnover, and enhance cash conversion ratios.
  • Participate in monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) meetings to understand demand changes, adjust production forecasts, and update Kanban market sizes.
  • Coach and mentor staff to resolve conflicts and provide personnel recommendations.
  • Develop strong relationships with warehouse personnel to identify areas of improvement and assist with implementation.
  • Review and control inventory to prevent excess stock. Collaborate with the Inventory Control Specialist on cycle counting procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related business field.
  • 5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience.
  • Hands-on experience with automated inventory control, MRP, and Kanban systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and project raw material and parts needs.
  • Strong task management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Experience in Aluminum and Electrical Supply Chains is a plus.
  • CPM and Six Sigma certifications are a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises staff.

Work Environment

Office setting with standard equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.

Physical Demands

Regular talking and hearing required.

Position Type/Hours

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility.

Travel

Occasional travel to suppliers/vendors as needed.
