Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in San Diego, CA, seeks a Supply Chain Planning Specialist (level 2) to collaborate with program managers, contracts, and operations onsite. You will own planning activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure alignment with EVMS and cost targets.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in supply chain or material planning (or equivalent with a high school diploma and 6 years of experience). Onsite work is required in San Diego.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of supply chain/material planning experience in manufacturing/aerospace.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of EVMS and related reporting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop supply chain strategy and lead planning/execution activities across programs.
  • Manage suppliers on cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
  • Assess material shortages and drive time-critical purchases.
  • Forecast material cost/performance and manage program budgets.
  • Maintain delivery performance metrics and EVMS baseline alignment.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with suppliers and engineering teams.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Supply Chain Planning Specialist (level 2) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals at our San Diego, CA location. This position will require you to be onsite fulltime.

What you'll get to do:
  • Develop supply chain strategy and lead activities for GSC in all phases of planning and execution
  • Manage suppliers on cost, schedule, quality, and performance
  • Assess material shortages, flag time-critical purchases, and drive acceleration
  • Manage, report, and forecast material cost/performance of assigned program(s)
  • Managing the material budget for contract requirements while supporting baseline/EVMS requirements
  • Maintain delivery performance metrics
  • Coordinate cross-functionally, directs communication, coordinates with Suppliers, and integrates efforts across all GSC functions
  • Align project scope and deliverables with customer requirements and works closely with the technical community
  • Brief the GSCPM, Program Management, and Operations on the status, Risk & Opportunities, and issues affecting GSC program performance
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain and/or material planning in a manufacturing or aerospace environment; A Master's degree ; OR in lieu of degree a High School Diploma with 6 years experience in supply chain and/or material planning in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Knowledge/experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cost, schedule, variance reporting
  • Proficient excel and analytical skills
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience and certification
  • Experience with Federal and Defense Contracting requirements including FAR/DFARS
  • Experience with Supply Chain metrics, and driving performance to targets
  • Demonstrated ability to influence team members, interact with peers and all levels of management in the organization

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
