Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly SIOP cycle, managing long-term planning and scenario analysis; identify exceptions and propose solutions.
  • Lead Tier 2 Supply meetings to surface and resolve exceptions.
  • Own Plan vs Actual performance with root cause analysis and actionable plans with owners and deadlines.
  • Act as primary contact for site leadership, manufacturing, global supply chain, finance and plant operations on material planning and inventory matters.
  • Champion material-constrained and MRP to align manufacturing with demand to minimize backorders and backlog.
  • Support network transfer projects and ramp-down balance to maintain service.
  • Ensure material planning and purchase execution to maintain availability and prevent line stoppages; lead VMI and supplier integration.
  • Coach and mentor purchasing teams and contribute on large-scale projects.
  • Maintain strategic view to optimize overall supply chain performance and exceed site KPIs.

This position is located onsite in Irvine, CA

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the Purchasing teams at the Irvine & Santa Ana manufacturing sites, driving performance to achieve service and inventory targets by developing high‑performing teams.

As the Supply Chain Manager , you will lead a team responsible for material requirements planning (MRP), and the release of purchase orders. You’ll collaborate closely with site leadership, manufacturing, supply planning, finance, new product development, and supply management.

In this exciting opportunity you will lead a team in Irvine and Santa Ana, California which will require you to travel up to 15% of the time to Santa Ana campus.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key participant in the monthly SIOP cycle, managing long-term rough‑cut planning and scenario analysis. Proactively identify and elevate exceptions for business consideration, offering possible scenarios and solutions.
  • Lead Tier 2 Supply meetings to surface and resolve exceptions.
  • Own Plan vs Actual performance, conducting thorough root cause analysis with clear action plans, assigned owners, and deadlines. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong accountability and the ability to influence business decisions to drive results.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for site leadership, manufacturing, global supply chain, finance, and plant operations teams on material planning, Plan vs Actual, and inventory matters.
  • Champion and manage material‑constrained and MRP to align manufacturing with demand, aiming for zero backorders and backlog.
  • Support network transfer projects and balance ramp‑down activities to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Ensure effective material planning and purchase execution to maintain optimal material availability and prevent production line stoppages. Lead VMI and supplier integration initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor the purchasing teams.
  • Skillfully contribute as a core team member on large‑scale or complex projects, adding value beyond traditional supply chain responsibilities.
  • Maintain a strategic perspective to optimize overall supply chain performance and exceed site service KPIs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, with 3+ years of management experience or advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of 1 or more of the following: SAP, Blue Yonder and Power BI
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in MS Office (MS Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Production Planning, Supplier Management, Warehousing
  • Medical Device/ Medical Supplies Manufacturing experience
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP
  • Experience implementing/ utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma/A3 techniques a plus.
  • 10 years of experience of working in a Supply Chain in Manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively as a leader and/or team member with cross‑functional teams
  • Ability to generate customer value - Listening, understanding, anticipating and solving
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence key stakeholders in a global and matrix organization environment.
  • Move with speed and decisiveness
  • Demonstrated experience of leading and motivating high performing team

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$117,600.00 - $176,400.00

This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long‑term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well‑being program).
