Key Responsibilities
The Inventory Supply Chain Planner is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, managing supply chain operations, and ensuring efficient product flow to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and maintaining service levels. The Supply Chain Planner manages all activities related to demand/supply planning, from production forecasts to finished good delivery, including daily communication and management of OEM partners within the assigned planning segment. You will:
Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain optimal inventory levels across all locations
- Monitor stock levels and implement reorder points
- Create and manage safety stock policies
- Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Conduct regular inventory audits
Supply Planning
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
- Develop replenishment strategies
- Manage purchase orders and delivery schedules
- Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate gaps in supply plans to meet order schedules
- Monitor supplier performance and lead times
- Identify and qualify alternative suppliers when needed
- Act as the primary liaison between OEM and the team to monitor, manage, and drive OEM performance within the planning segment
Demand Planning
- Collaborate with sales teams to forecast future customer demand based on historical data and market trends
- Adjust forecasts for seasonal variations and market conditions
- Monitor forecast accuracy and update as necessary
Analysis & Reporting
- Generate inventory reports and KPIs regularly
- Analyze supply chain metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
- Track inventory turnover rates
- Develop cost-saving initiatives
- Create executive summaries and presentations
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with warehouse teams to optimize storage and handling
- Coordinate with finance on inventory valuation
- Partner with logistics on transportation planning
- Collaborate with production planning to create master schedules using capacity plans, material reports, and demand inputs
- Host meetings with manufacturing partners globally to reduce shortages
- Work with Finance, Sales, Sourcing, Engineering, and other teams to monitor and report budgets
- Promote process improvements and standardization across all sites
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Operations or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of planning experience in a consumer market segment using systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle
- 2+ years of supply chain management experience
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
- Understanding and practical application of LEAN principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- APICS certification
- Effective communication skills with senior management, peers, and teams
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing preferred
