Job summary

Wellness Pet Company in Burlington, MA seeks a Supply Chain Planner to support demand planning and inventory optimization. You will collaborate with demand planning and procurement to reduce stockouts and obsolescence while building the supply plan and KPI tracking.

This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and requires 3–5 years in retail-facing planning within consumer products. A bachelor's in SCM and strong Excel skills are essential. Hybrid schedule: four days in-office, one remote.

Qualifications

Our Team is based out of our office in Burlington, Massachusetts, where we work in-office Monday through Thursday each week, and remotely on Fridays. Team members must reside within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from our Burlington office.

What You’ll Accomplish

Our Supply Chain Planners are responsible for supporting the customer demand plan through strategic inventory planning with the objective of ensuring high fill rates while minimizing obsolescence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our demand planning and procurement teams to optimize inventory and encourage asset utilization. You will develop and execute our supply plan, determining priorities and implementing strategies to reduce out-of-stock and over-stock issues. This is a great role for a developing supply chain professional seeking to leverage and continue to develop their analytical and project management abilities while flexing their ability to think strategically and collaborate cross-functionally. This role reports to our Supply Chain Manager. Our Supply Chain Planners:

• Plan inventory purchases needed to meet the forecasted customer demands as forecasted
• Report and track inventory levels at our distribution centers and supplier KPIs
• Monitor inventory level to prevent excess inventory
• Collaborate with the broader operations team on key process improvements projects and ideas
• Support new product introductions
• Identify inventory constraints due to lead times, transit times, and material shortages
• Monitor monthly and weekly production plans, prioritizing certain work orders
• Track inventory levels at our retail distribution centers and allocate product as needed
• Monitor movement of materials through purchasing, storage, production, and distribution
• Set preferred stock levels and prevent excess inventory
• Support the demand planning process through forecast maintenance and demand analysis
• Analyze historical trends and sales activity impacts to identify demand patterns and risks
• Build cyclical and ad hoc analysis on inventory health, inbounds forecasting and supplier performance

In addition, for this specific role, we need someone who possesses:

• A bachelor's degree in supply chain management or logistics
• Data modeling and materials planning experience
• A minimum of three to five years of ‘retail facing’ demand management and supply chain planning experience within consumer products manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated analytical skills, adept at using advanced Excel functions and other analytical tools
• Able to lead (without direct-line authority) the broader organization to the achievement of common goals
• Experience using ‘commercial off-the-shelf’ planning systems (demand planning, master scheduling, DRP/MRP, ERP)
• Will be based out of our corporate office in Burlington, Massachusetts four days each week on a synchronized hybrid schedule

The annual salary range for this position is $74,100 to $105,300, based on a full-time work schedule, anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational equity. Compensation may vary within that pay range depending on the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The full compensation details will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer and may include eligibility for participation in a bonus program.
