Job summary

Flatter, Inc. seeks an experienced Instructor, Supply Chain Optimization to support CALOS and ASU. You will deliver both resident and virtual instruction, maintain TRAS, and support training requirements for active Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve Soldiers.

The role emphasizes developing curriculum, updating course material, and applying supply chain optimization knowledge at national and strategic levels. Travel to CONUS locations is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Graduate of the U.S. Army Intermediate Level Education (ILE) or an equivalent course.
  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching, developing, or reviewing course materials for military training programs.
  • Knowledge of Army Regulations and ADDIE process used to develop learning products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must have served as a Logistics Branch officer and possess Army Logistics expertise.

Responsibilities

Job description

Summary/Objective

The Instructor, Supply Chain Optimization supports the College of Applied Logistics and Operational Sciences (CALOS) by providing performance-oriented teaching services, classroom training, hands-on performance-oriented training, simulation/virtual training, and/or field exercise or combat scenario-driven training in a realistic and safe environment. The Instructor supports the U.S. Army Sustainment University (ASU) by providing instruction and maintaining Training Requirements Analysis System (TRAS) documents for both the Intermediate Level Logistics Course (ILLC) and the Supply Chain Optimization Course (SCOC). Training is delivered through resident instruction, distance learning/virtual instruction, and Mobile Training Teams (MTTs) throughout CONUS.


Essential Functions


  • Instruct the Intermediate Level Logistics Course (ILLC) and Supply Chain Optimization Course (SCOC) in resident and virtual environments at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, and at designated Mobile Training Team (MTT) locations at the request of supported CONUS military units or commands.

  • Fulfill Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements for instructor and training support services for Active Army, Army National Guard, and Reserve Component Soldiers, contractors, and Department of the Army civilians.

  • Provide qualified functional expertise in the U.S. Army Logistics Enterprise to develop the skills required to perform logistics and supply chain-related operations at the National and Strategic levels.

  • Ensure students gain required skills and knowledge through the use of applicable automated job performance aids.

  • Provide technical and instructional support required for ILLC and SCOC instruction.

  • Review and update course materials for each lesson.

  • Maintain and update applicable TRAS documentation for ILLC and SCOC.

  • Perform continuous Program of Instruction (POI) updates and enhancements.

  • Provide advanced training in Army Logistics and Supply Chain operations at the National, Strategic, and Operational levels.

  • Develop and enhance curriculum incorporating discussions, case studies, and practical exercises.

  • Develop and deliver instructional content addressing Mission Command, Life-Cycle Systems Management, Supply Chain Management and Optimization, Logistics Capabilities Development and Management, Materiel Readiness, and Data Analysis impacts to sustainment support across the Army Enterprise.

  • Maintain knowledge of applicable Army and TRADOC training requirements and instructional development processes.

  • Support continuous improvement of instructional materials, learning products, and course delivery.

Required Education and Experience


  • Prior military service at the rank of Major (MAJ) or above.

  • Minimum prior military service requirement stated in the source material as “ten (10) years.” This requirement requires confirmation before finalization.

  • Must have been honorably discharged, retired, or currently serving as a National Guard or United States Army Reserve (USAR) officer.

  • Graduate of the U.S. Army Intermediate Level Education (ILE) or an equivalent course.

  • Must have served as a Logistics Branch (LG) officer.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Knowledge of Army Regulation 350-1, TRADOC Regulation 350-70, TRADOC Pamphlet 350-70-14, and the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process used to develop learning products.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching, developing, or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for military training programs.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of the Intermediate Level Logistics Course sufficient to facilitate instruction.

  • Must complete the Supply Chain Management Course, Intermediate Level Logistics Course, and Supply Chain Optimization Course.

  • Knowledge of U.S. Army supply and logistics methodologies and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must successfully complete the Common Faculty Development Program – Instructor Course and Distance Learning Blackboard 101 Instructor Training Course within three (3) months of the start of performance on the task order.

  • Must have the ability to access A365.


Preferred Experience

Service within the last ten (10) years in an assignment with Army Materiel Command Headquarters, a Life Cycle Management Command (AMCOM, TACOM, or CECOM), or a Depot/Arsenal.
