Hunter Engineering Company in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a Supply Chain Co-Op for Spring 2027. You will work with the Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and supplier base to develop communication and critical thinking in a professional setting.

The role offers exposure to MRO purchasing, vendor management, and cross-functional projects. Students should be pursuing a business or engineering-related degree and be self-motivated with strong computer and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Majoring in Business with SCM/Operations emphasis or Engineering Management/Applied Engineering Sciences.
• Current student status as sophomore, junior or senior (enthusiastic and self-motivated).
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes including inventory control basics (EOQ, ABC prioritization) is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Process purchases of select MRO orders with oversight from Indirect Procurement.
• Work with various software and E-commerce systems.
• Contribute to projects and reports to assist buyers.
• Analyze, prepare, and negotiate quotes.
• Assist with liquidation of obsolete raw material and parts inventory.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, buyers, internal stakeholders and management.
• Troubleshoot vendor/order issues to maintain department function.
• Apply Total Cost of Ownership metrics in evaluating decisions.
• Keep detailed records.
• Pass knowledge and help train successor.

As a Supply Chain Co-Op, you will work directly with other members of the Supply Chain department, as well as Engineering, Manufacturing, and a diverse supply base. The interaction with these various groups will allow the individual to build communication skills and improve critical thinking in a professional atmosphere.

This position is for a Spring 2027 Co-Op, with a start date of January 2027 and an end date of August 2027.

What You’ll Do:

• Process the purchases of select Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) orders with assistance and oversight of the Indirect Procurement team.
• Work with various software and E-commerce systems.
• Work on projects and producing reports to assist buyers.
• Analyze, prepare, and negotiate quote packages.
• Assist with the liquidation of obsolete raw material and parts inventory.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, buyers, internal stakeholders & management.
• Troubleshoot vendor or order issues to help maintain the orderly function of the department.
• Apply Total Cost of Ownership metrics in evaluating purchasing decisions.
• Keep good records.
• Pass on your knowledge and assist with the training of your successor.

What You’ll Bring:

Major study in:

• Business, preferably with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management or Operations
• Engineering Management or Applied Engineering Sciences

• Be an enthusiastic and self-motivated sophomore, junior, or senior.
• Basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the purchasing processes, including a basic understanding of inventory control, EOQ, A/B/C prioritization, etc. is preferred.
