Job summary

UnitX is a hardware AI-vision company in Milpitas seeking a hands-on Supply Chain & Operations Manager to own how hardware moves through North America. You’ll coordinate procurement, shipping, bench testing, and inventory to ensure on-time delivery and accurate asset tracking.

You’ll negotiate with vendors, manage import/export compliance, build an operations dashboard, and collaborate with Engineering, Finance and Sales. This on-site role requires five days a week in Milpitas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supply chain, operations or procurement at a hardware company.
• Troubleshoot hardware and power-on tests for GPUs, cameras, and cables.
• Experience shipping high-value products domestically and internationally (Incoterms, HTS, invoices, export controls).
• Knowledge of import/export duties and customs; broker management.
• Experience buying hardware and software licenses; price/lead time negotiation.
• Experience using ERP/inventory systems with high count accuracy.
• Strong organization and data cleanliness; clear processes.
• On-site in Milpitas 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Run domestic and international receiving/shipping for orders and internal hardware/software; manage carriers, freight forwarders, customs docs, and export compliance.
• Bench-test incoming/outgoing hardware; triage failures with Engineering before shipment.
• Own procurement for hardware and software licenses from quotes to renewals and cost tracking.
• Manage vendor performance: lead times, on-time delivery, late/defective shipments, approved vendor list.
• Build and run inventory/asset management: system of record, cycle counts, RMAs, tagging.
• Manage import/export compliance: classify products, duties, tariffs, and records; coordinate with customs brokers.
• Own monthly operations dashboard (on-time delivery, shipping errors, spend vs budget); write SOPs; coordinate with Sales/Field on demand and delivery planning.
• Run the office, warehouse and lab space: layout, security, safety, EHS, laptops/accounts, hardware/network issues.

About the role

We’re looking for a hands-on Supply Chain & Operations Manager to own how hardware moves through UnitX in North America. You’ll make sure every part we buy arrives on time, every system we ship is right the first time, and every dollar and asset is accounted for. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Field Deployment, Finance and Sales, and you’ll be comfortable both negotiating with vendors and testing hardware at the bench.

What you’ll do

• Run domestic and international receiving and shipping for customer orders and internal hardware/software, including carriers, freight forwarders, customs documents and export compliance

• Bench-test incoming and outgoing hardware (power-on, imaging, camera/lens checks); triage failures with Engineering before shipment

• Own procurement for hardware (GPUs, industrial PCs, cameras, lenses, cables, lighting) and software licenses, from quotes and POs through approvals, renewals and cost tracking

• Manage vendor performance: track lead times and on-time delivery, resolve late or defective shipments and keep an approved vendor list

• Build and run inventory and asset management: system of record, cycle counts, reconciliation, asset tagging and RMAs

• Manage import and export compliance: classify products (HTS, ECCN), calculate duties, tariffs and landed cost, work with customs brokers, file export documents and keep records audit-ready

• Own the monthly operations dashboard (on-time delivery, shipment errors, spend vs budget, inventory accuracy); write and maintain SOPs; work with Sales and Field teams on demand and delivery planning; lead process improvement across NA operations

• Run the office, warehouse and lab space: layout, security, safety and EHS compliance, office supplies, facility vendors; Set up laptops and accounts, manage license seats, handle first-line hardware and network issues as needed

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years in supply chain, operations or procurement at a hardware company

• Comfort assembling, powering on and troubleshooting computers, GPUs, cameras and cabling

• Hands-on experience shipping high-value products domestically and internationally (Incoterms, HTS codes, commercial invoices, export controls)

• Working knowledge of import and export duties and customs: tariff classification, duty and tariff impacts, customs broker management

• A record of buying both hardware and software licenses, including negotiating price and lead time

• Experience owning inventory and asset tracking in an ERP or inventory system (NetSuite, Odoo or similar) with high count accuracy

• Strong organization and follow-through; you like clean data and clear processes

• Able to work on-site in our Milpitas office, 5 days a week

Nice to have

• Experience at a machine vision, industrial automation, robotics or AI hardware company

• Experience building operations processes from scratch at a startup

• Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers

• Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus
