Job description

Supply Chain Operations Intern — Fulfillment, Inventory & Logistics

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, On‑site (Must reside locally for consideration)

Schedule: Approximately 30–40 hours per week

Department: Operations

Status: Paid Internship

About the Opportunity

Teaspressa is looking for a Supply Chain Operations Intern who wants more than a traditional internship.

This is a hands‑on role inside a growing consumer‑products manufacturer where you'll gain direct experience across fulfillment, inventory management, logistics, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and e‑commerce operations.

You'll also do the actual work.

After training, you'll serve as the primary day‑to‑day executor of our fulfillment operation, processing and shipping customer orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments and ensuring orders leave our facility accurately and on time.

For the right student, the bigger opportunity is what comes next: we want you to help make the operation better.

You'll have access to our workflows, systems and operational data and will be encouraged to identify inefficiencies, improve warehouse organization, develop SOPs, evaluate inventory practices and implement solutions that make our supply chain more accurate, efficient and scalable.

This is an opportunity to take concepts from the classroom and apply them to a real operating supply chain where your decisions can have an immediate impact.

What You’ll Actually Do
Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations
  • Own daily order fulfillment across e‑commerce, wholesale and B2B channels.
  • Pick, pack, label and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Process larger wholesale purchase orders and follow retailer‑specific routing, labeling and shipping requirements.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, deliveries and freight.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient and traceable warehouse environment.
  • Coordinate parcel and freight shipments with carriers including UPS, FedEx and LTL providers.
  • Troubleshoot missing, damaged, delayed or incorrectly shipped orders.

This is a hands‑on role. You should expect to spend a meaningful portion of your week physically working within the fulfillment operation—not simply analyzing it from a desk.

Inventory & Supply Chain Systems
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for finished goods, packaging and raw materials.
  • Perform inventory counts, reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support raw‑material tracking, purchasing and production planning.
  • Process and maintain operational information across ERP, CRM, EDI and fulfillment platforms.
  • Work with systems including Shopify, ShipStation and other inventory and business‑management tools.
  • Learn how orders and inventory move across multiple sales and distribution channels.
Process Improvement & Special Projects

This is where we want you to apply what you're learning in school.

Depending on your interests and the needs of the business, projects may include:

  • Mapping and improving fulfillment workflows.
  • Developing inventory‑control and cycle‑count procedures.
  • Improving warehouse layout, product flow and storage strategy.
  • Measuring order accuracy, fulfillment time and shipping performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce shipping or material costs.
  • Improving inventory visibility and reporting.
  • Creating dashboards, trackers or operational KPIs.
  • Evaluating opportunities for automation.
  • Documenting and implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Improving processes between manufacturing, inventory, sales and fulfillment.

You'll be encouraged not just to identify opportunities, but to design, test and implement solutions.

What Makes This Internship Different

At a large organization, a supply chain intern may see one small piece of an operation.

Here, you'll see nearly all of it.

Our products move through multiple channels, including direct‑to‑consumer e‑commerce, independent wholesale accounts, major retailers and other distribution relationships. That means you'll gain exposure to different order flows, fulfillment requirements, inventory challenges and logistics models within a single role.

You'll work closely with people across operations, manufacturing, sales and marketing, giving you a practical view of how decisions made in one part of a business affect the rest of the supply chain.

Most importantly, you won't just shadow the person running fulfillment.

Who We’re Looking For

This role could be a great fit for someone currently pursuing a degree in:

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Global Logistics
  • Operations Management
  • Business
  • Manufacturing
  • Data Analytics
  • Or a related field

Previous supply‑chain experience is not required.

We're much more interested in someone who:

  • Is dependable and takes ownership of their responsibilities.
  • Has strong attention to detail.
  • Is comfortable learning new software and technology.
  • Has basic proficiency with Excel or spreadsheets.
  • Enjoys organizing systems and figuring out more efficient ways to do things.
  • Can work independently once trained.
  • Is comfortable switching between computer‑based work and hands‑on warehouse tasks.
  • Communicates clearly when something doesn't look right.
  • Has the curiosity to ask, "Why do we do it this way, and is there a better way?"
Schedule

We typically expect this position to work 30+ hours per weekbecause of the level of ownership involved in the role with a preference to am work to accommodate afternoon carrier activity.

We understand that students have academic commitments and can provide reasonable flexibility around class schedules. In return, we need someone who can commit to a consistent, dependable weekly schedulethat allows them to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day fulfillment function.

This is an on‑site position in Phoenix, Arizona.

Physical Requirements

Because you'll be working inside an operating warehouse and fulfillment environment, you must be able to:

  • Lift, carry and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Spend extended periods standing and walking.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel and reach as necessary for fulfillment and inventory activities.
  • Work comfortably in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and activity levels.
What You’ll Leave With

Our goal with interns is always to build you into a professional that doesn't want to leave us, but if we do part, you'll leave this internship with substantially more than a line on your résumé,

You will be able to speak to actual experience managing:

  • Inventory control and reconciliation
  • ERP and fulfillment technology
  • Wholesale and retailer logistics
  • EDI and purchase‑order workflows
  • Parcel and freight shipping
  • Manufacturing supply‑chain coordination
  • Real operational KPIs and business problems

And ideally, you'll leave with measurable projects you can point to in your next interview:

"I identified this problem, developed this solution, implemented it and achieved this result."
