Job summary

Abcam, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Material Planner for the Eugene, Oregon on-site team. You will translate demand forecasts into material requirements and coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.

You will develop advanced planning capabilities in Oracle ERP and strengthen supply chain analytics, while collaborating across functions to resolve shortages and optimize inventories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and strong planning background.
• 24+ years of experience in supply chain, materials, or production planning (preferred in biotech/pharma).
• Experience managing material supply for multiple SKUs and resolving shortages to sustain production.

Material Planner is responsible for translating demand forecasts and production plans into accurate material requirements, ensuring the right inventory is available to support on-time, in-full delivery. They collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to manage supplier performance, resolve shortages, and continuously optimize inventory levels and planning processes.

This position reports to the Supply Chain Planning Manager and is part of the Eugene Operations team located in Eugene, Oregon and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Own inventory and service performance, with direct impact on customer delivery and business results.
• Develop advanced planning and ERP capabilities (Oracle), strengthening analytical and systems expertise.
• Partner cross-functionally across procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, building strong stakeholder alignment while solving complex supply challenges end-to-end.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 24+ years of experience in supply chain, materials, or production planning within a manufacturing environment (biotech, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry preferred).
• Experience managing material supply for a portfolio of SKUs and resolving shortages, supplier delays, and supply constraints to support uninterrupted production

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Dynamic kanban or other physical inventory management system

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
