The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the daily execution and coordination of the site supply chain, including procurement, production scheduling, material availability, and inventory replenishment. This role ensures that materials are available to support the production plan and customer commitments while operating within the targets, policies, and budget set by the Director, Supply Chain. This leader directly manages the Procurement and Production Scheduling teams and owns the daily operating rhythm of the supply chain—purchase order placement and expediting, supplier performance management, shortage reviews and recovery plans, and short-term capacity balancing. This position requires a hands‑on operator—someone who is comfortable in the details, drives accountability through daily KPI management, and coordinates effectively across Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and Customer Service to keep the site running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage buyers and daily procurement activities. Own purchase order placement, confirmations, and expediting, and managing day‑to‑day supplier performance and the escalation process in line with the sourcing strategy and expectations set by the Director.
  • Accountable for ensuring material availability to support the production plan. Lead daily shortage reviews and recovery plans and execute contingency and recovery plans when supply is disrupted.
  • Own production scheduling and prioritization for the site. Manage short‑term capacity balancing to meet customer demand and service commitments.
  • Execute replenishment plans to achieve inventory targets and safety stock policy. Manage excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventory actions and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Directly manage the Procurement and Production Scheduling teams. Set daily priorities, conduct employee performance reviews, and develop team capability and cross‑training.
  • Own daily KPI performance management for the site supply chain. Provide operational reporting and analysis to the Director and site leadership and manage within approved budget parameters.
  • Drive ERP process adoption and data integrity across procurement, scheduling, and inventory transactions. Lead execution of continuous improvement projects sponsored by the Director.
  • Support execution of agreed S&OP plans and strategic initiatives. Execute material readiness and planning activities for new product introductions and manage routine operational customer supply issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience required; APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in procurement, production planning/scheduling, or materials management within a manufacturing environment; diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience supervising buyers, planners, or schedulers.
  • Working knowledge of MRP logic, purchase order management, production scheduling, safety stock, and inventory control practices.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, expediting, and shortage recovery in a fast‑paced operation.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills for operational reporting and analysis.
Salary Range (applicable to California):

$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 base salary DOE

Supervisory Responsibilities:

In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; enforcing all safety rules and ensuring safe work procedures.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and drive closure on open issues.
  • Effective communicator who can coordinate across Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Finance, and Customer Service.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret KPI data and take corrective action.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable to daily performance expectations.
