Job summary

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor’s in a related field and 5–10 years of planning/purchasing experience, with ERP/MRP proficiency and leadership capabilities.

• 5–10 years in planning, purchasing, or supply chain with leadership experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing and supplier contracting; drive current supply base assessment.
• Act as primary relationship manager with suppliers and conduct periodic business reviews.
• Ensure purchasing supports manufacturing schedules and leverages MRP/ERP data.
• Develop make-vs-buy analyses to inform insource/outsource decisions.
• Collaborate with leadership to set department KPIs aligned with business goals.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities And Competencies

• Strategic sourcing and supplier contracting; drive assessment of current supply base
• Serve as the primary relationship manager with suppliers
• Facilitate periodic business reviews with key suppliers
• Ensure tactical purchasing function is effective and supports manufacturing production schedules
• Champion effective use of MRP system in the planning and purchasing processes
• Champion S&OP process along with Operations leaders
• Ensure planning and purchasing efforts properly balance objectives of customer OTD, efficient inventory management and working capital, and level load objectives of factory operations
• Develop make-vs buy analysis to drive insource & outsource business decisions
• Participate in business strategy development and assure alignment with department direction
• Lead, coach, develop, and support group of planners and buyers
• Hire & train new employees as necessary
• Work with GM to develop department KPIs which support and are aligned with business unit objectives
• Establish goals and metrics

This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the City of Industry, CA location.

Qualifications

Education and /or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in supply chain, business, engineering or equivalent experience. MBA would be a bonus but not required. Experience level: minimum of 5 to 10 years of planning, purchasing, or supply chain experience required, a portion of which should include management/leadership role experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of ERP/MRP software, and be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
