Job summary

TalentHound in Byron, CA is seeking a senior sourcing leader responsible for propulsion, powertrain and electronics supply chains. You will own supplier selection, negotiate contracts, and ensure parts arrive on time, at the right cost and quality as we move from prototypes to production.

This is a senior individual contributor role with ownership and a path to leadership as we scale. Expect on-site visits to suppliers at least twice a week and close collaboration with Engineering,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in strategic sourcing or direct procurement, ideally in aerospace or complex hardware.
• Track record of negotiating large supply agreements and delivering cost savings.
• Experience managing tens of millions of dollars in parts spend across multiple suppliers.
• Strong cost modeling and analytical skills.
• Experience taking suppliers from prototype through production.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Self-starter who thrives with limited structure.

Responsibilities

• Secure supplier capacity as we scale from prototypes to production.

• Ensure compliance with aerospace and export-control rules (ITAR, EAR, AS9100).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Finance, and Legal.

Job description

You’ll own the supply chain for the most important parts of the aircraft: propulsion, powertrain, and electronics. You’ll choose suppliers, negotiate contracts, and make sure parts arrive on time, at the right cost, and at the right quality as we move from prototypes to full production.

This is a senior individual contributor role with a lot of ownership, and a path to leadership as we grow. Must be able to visit suppliers and work on-site in Byron, CA (at least 2x a week)

What you’ll do

• Find, qualify, and manage suppliers for propulsion, powertrain, and electronics parts
• Negotiate pricing and long-term supply agreements, working with Legal and Finance
• Build cost models that show what parts should cost, and use them to guide engineering decisions
• Secure supplier capacity and long-lead parts as we scale from prototypes to production
• Track supplier performance and keep purchasing data accurate in our ERP system
• Make sure we meet aerospace and export-control rules (ITAR, EAR, AS9100)
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Finance, and Legal

What we’re looking for
