Staples is offering an on-site Fulfillment Center Intern position in Ontario, California. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in day-to-day warehouse operations, supervised by experienced staff, across picking, restocking, packing, receiving, and shipping.

The program targets juniors or seniors pursuing a degree in Supply Chain or related fields and aims to build foundational skills in logistics, inventory control, and lean processes within a large Staples fulfillment center.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior graduating May 2028 or May 2029, enrolled as a full-time student.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly.

Responsibilities

• Shadow experienced fulfillment center supervisors to learn warehouse management, safety, inventory control, and logistics.
• Assist in daily operations across order picking, restocking, bulk selecting, custodianship, material handling, receiving, returns, and shipping.
• Support training and performance of a team of order pickers, restorers, bulk selectors, custodians, and material handlers.
• Help enforce health and safety standards for a safe work environment.
• Monitor daily warehouse activities, conduct cycle counts, and verify inventory accuracy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean warehouse practices.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve operational issues and ensure timely shipment of goods.
• Participate in meetings to discuss improvements and project statuses with management.
• Assist with preparation and presentation of reports on KPIs and department activities.
• Engage in special projects and provide hands-on support and analysis.

The Fulfillment Center Intern is an entry-level, hourly position designed for recent college Juniors, Seniors or those with a degree in logistics or business management. This role provides hands‑on experience in the day‑to‑day operations of a large Staples fulfillment center. Interns will work closely with experienced supervisors, gaining insights and skills across various areas such as order picking, restocking, bulk selection, custodianship, material handling, and shipping. This position is a foundational step toward a career in supply chain management.

Note: This internship position requires you to be on‑site for varied shifts at the Staples Fulfillment Center in Ontario, California.

Target Start Date: June 7, 2027 – August 20, 2027 (11-week program)

What you’ll be doing:

• Shadow experienced fulfillment center supervisors to learn and understand all aspects of warehouse management, including safety protocols, inventory control, and logistics
• Assist in daily operations across various departments such as order picking, restocking, bulk selecting, custodianship, material handling, warehouse receiving, returns, and shipping
• Participate in the training and support of a team comprising order pickers, re‑stokers, bulk selectors, custodians, and material handlers, ensuring adherence to productivity and quality standards
• Contribute to the implementation and enforcement of health and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment for all employees
• Help manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stock takes, and audit of same to verify results
• Support the optimization of warehouse operations through continuous improvement initiatives and lean warehouse practices
• Collaborate with other team members to resolve operational issues and ensure the timely shipment of goods
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss improvements and achievements in warehouse operations, safety performance, and process enhancements
• Assist with the preparation and presentation of reports on departmental activities, key performance indicators, and project status updates to management
• Engage in special projects and tasks as assigned, providing hands‑on support and analysis

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Must be a rising junior or senior graduating in May 2028 or May 2029, enrolled as a full‑time student carrying a minimum of 12 college credits
