Job summary

Adient is seeking a Summer Intern at Central Tech Unit Plymouth MI to gain hands-on experience in supply chain planning and supplier management. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting data-driven decision making during the May–August internship window.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a 4-year BS program in Supply Chain, Business, or Finance, maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA, and capable of 40 hours per week onsite. MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a 4 year BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Management or Finance.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Previous internship or co-op in automotive-related position is a plus.
• Solid analytical skills and ability to work with customers, suppliers, and development teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organized and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Manage domestic and international supply base supporting North American Manufacturing.
• Manage Supplier Delivery Performance.
• Support Master Data Management adherence activities.
• Attend Demand and Supply Plan reviews.
• Support Capacity studies.
• Report on Supply Plan KPIs related to Supplier Management.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain Execution Team, Supply Chain Planning Team and Operations on maintaining supply of raw materials.
• Gain hands-on experience in a central planning team.

Summer Interns will work onsite 40 hours per week (full-time), with a targeted start date of May 3, 2027 through August 12, 2027.

The following experience is considered essential:

• Manage domestic and international supply base supporting North American Manufacturing
• Manage Supplier Delivery Performance
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) adherence activities
• Attend Demand and Supply Plan reviews
• Support Capacity studies
• Report out on Supply Plan KPI’s related to Supplier Management
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain Execution Team, Supply Chain Planning Team and Operations on maintaining supply of raw material
• Support standardization across region
• Perform analysis as required
• Gain hands on experience in a central planning team.

Other position requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4 year B.S. degree in Supply Chain, Business, Management or Finance
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week
• Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
• Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus
• Solid analytical skills and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and the development team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail, organization skills and follow up
• Proficient in MS Office

• Ability to working within high-performing teams in highly collaborative environments.

• Data gathering, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
