Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Supply Chain Intern in Rochester, NY, to support procurement activities and supplier management. You will work on RFQs, pricing, and fielding orders while learning key supply chain concepts in a dynamic defense tech environment.

You will interact with suppliers, track orders, and ensure cost effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery as part of a growing team. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a related degree with a passion for logistics and operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, economics, finance or related field.
• Fundamentals of supply chain principles, spend management, negotiations and contract awareness.
• Exposure to sourcing, supplier performance, and Lean Six Sigma concepts.

Responsibilities

• Submit RFQs to suppliers to develop pricing for materials and services.
• Procure material, equipment and services for low to high value, medium to high volume.
• Negotiate price, delivery and quality; determine supplier selections.
• Track purchase orders, resolve discrepancies with receiving and accounting.
• Interface with suppliers to ensure competitive total cost of ownership.
• Interpret FAR/DFAR/ITAR where applicable for import/export controls.

Job Description:

• Submit RFQ’s to suppliers to develop CML (Consolidated Material Lists) pricing

• Procure material, equipment, supplies, services, and commodity products of low to medium value and medium to high volume

• Negotiate price, delivery and quality of products/services and determine supplier selections

• Track all Purchase Orders through reports, work matched exceptions, open commitments, receiving discrepancies, returns, supplier discrepancies, and problem reports/supplier corrective action responses

• Interface with receiving and accounting to resolve issues

• Confer with suppliers to determine factors that affect competitive total cost of ownership consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules

• Interpret FAR/DFAR/ITAR laws, rules and regulations regarding import/export control certifications and licenses

  Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, General Business Management, Business Administration or related field

  Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Supply Chain principles and concepts, spend management tools, purchasing insight into buying and selling principles, negotiations, awareness of different contract types, financial and quantitative analytical skills, commodity management, supplier and performance measurement tools, and exposure to sourcing process, and Lean Six Sigma

  In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New

York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $18.00 - $36.00/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
