Job summary

KP Recruiting Group is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management in Nashville, TN, to build and lead a growing chain organization supporting a defense-focused business. The role requires DoD contracting experience, strategic sourcing, and cross-functional leadership to optimize cost, schedule, and supplier performance.

You will manage a $100M-$200M spend portfolio, influence product design, and develop workforce plans aligned with program requirements and budgets.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • or 13+ years with a Graduate degree
  • or 19+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Significant leadership experience across Supply Chain, Procurement, Subcontracts, or Materials Management
  • 5+ years of FAR/DFARS contracting experience
  • Experience working within DoD / government contracting environments
  • Strong strategic sourcing and supplier-management capabilities
  • Proven experience building and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and executive communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Supply Chain organization across procurement and subcontracts
  • Build, develop, and lead a growing team of approximately 7-10 professionals
  • Develop workforce plans aligned with program requirements, budgets, and long-term growth
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, talent development, and organizational capability building
  • Partner early with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and Business Leadership
  • Influence product and program design decisions to optimize cost, producibility, schedule, and supply chain risk
  • Manage approximately $100M-$200M in annual spend
  • Develop supplier strategies and oversee procurement execution
  • Lead subcontract management and supplier risk mitigation
  • Drive year-over-year improvements in supplier quality, cost, and lead time
  • Establish scalable processes, systems, and performance metrics
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate strategic supply chain issues to senior leadership, customers, and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and import/export requirements
  • Experience scaling supply chain organizations during periods of rapid growth
  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced technology manufacturing experience

Build & Lead the Supply Chain Organization Behind a Rapidly Growing Defense Business

We're seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain Management to lead the Supply Chain organization supporting a rapidly growing aerospace and defense business in Nashville, Tennessee.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a strategic supply chain executive who can build an organization, influence product design, develop supplier strategy, and drive measurable improvements in cost, quality, and delivery.

The Director will oversee approximately $100M-$200M in annual supply chain spend across procurement and subcontracts while partnering directly with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and senior business leadership.

What You'll Own

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of FAR/DFARS contracting experience

  • Strong cross-functional leadership and executive communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • New product or major program launch experience
  • Experience with ERP/MRP implementations, particularly Costpoint
  • Experience with FAR Part 15 and FAR Part 12
  • Import/export compliance knowledge
  • Experience scaling supply chain organizations during periods of rapid growth
  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced technology manufacturing experience
  • Strong understanding of government procurement and subcontracting requirements
